Buyer guide · Payment terms

Know the money side before you schedule pickup.

For South Texas buyers, a Shopbox deal is straightforward: agree on the unit and price, make sure the funds are ready, then plan the hand-off. Here is what “cash only” means in practice.

01

01 · What cash means

Cash means the agreed money is ready.

“Cash” does not mean you have to carry paper bills to San Antonio. It means the agreed funds are available, verified, and clear before the hand-off.

The boundary is simple

What Shopbox does not offer

Shopbox does not provide in-house financing. We do not have a finance office or a payment plan to approve after you arrive.

We also do not maintain third-party lender relationships or run credit checks. The price and payment method are agreed before the appointment, then the funds clear before the unit changes hands.

That keeps the conversation honest: you know the number, you know the payment method, and you know what has to be clear before pickup.

02

02 · Payment at pickup

Bring the payment method confirmed for the deal.

Pickup is the final hand-off, not the time to discover that a bank transfer is still pending or a check needs another approval.

Accepted methods

Cash, certified funds, or wire sent in advance.

At pickup, we accept the payment method confirmed for your deal:

Cash

Physical cash, when agreed in advance.

Certified funds

A cashier’s check or other certified instrument, confirmed before pickup.

Wire in advance

A bank wire sent early enough for the funds to clear before the appointment.

Whatever method you use, the agreed funds must clear before the unit, keys, signed title, and applicable paperwork change hands. Ask before traveling if your bank has a timing or limit question.

03 · Holding a unit

A deposit starts with a clear plan.

A deposit is not a mystery step. It is the part of the agreement that tells both sides the unit is being held while you finish the purchase.

The order of operations

Confirm each step before money moves.

The sequence is simple: identify the unit, agree on the price and deposit terms with Shopbox, receive confirmation that the unit is being held, then clear the remaining balance before pickup.

  1. 01

    Identify the unit

Confirm the vehicle or equipment you want to move forward on.

  2. 02

Agree on price and deposit terms

Talk through the price and deposit terms with Shopbox before sending funds.

  3. 03

    Receive confirmation

Shopbox confirms that the unit is being held for you.

  4. 04

    Clear the balance

Make sure the remaining balance clears before pickup and hand-off.

The exact deposit terms can vary by unit. Ask us to confirm the terms for this unit before you send anything; we will not invent an amount, hold duration, refund rule, or forfeiture rule here. Once the unit is confirmed as held, leave time for the remaining balance to clear before pickup.

04

04 · Why the price stays tight

The cash-only model keeps the transaction lean.

Keeping payment simple is part of how Shopbox keeps overhead close to the deal. It does not mean every cash purchase is automatically cheaper or faster; it means fewer layers are built into the process.

Fewer layers in the deal

The price is not carrying a finance machine.

There is no finance office to staff, no lender markup to pass through, and no monthly sales-floor process to carry from one deal to the next.

There is also no franchise overhead. Shopbox moves vehicles and equipment one-off, so the price reflects the unit, the agreed work, and the hand-off rather than a dealership payment machine.

That is why we can keep the conversation tight and the terms plain. Timing still depends on the unit, the seller, the bank, and the route.

05

05 · If you need a loan

Start with the lender you already trust.

If a cash deal is not your fit, that is useful to know early. Start with a local credit union, community bank, or personal note and learn what they need before you schedule pickup.

Bring the approval instructions

Your lender sets the funding process.

Ask for approval or clear funding instructions before you set the appointment. Confirm how the lender will release funds, which documents they need, and how long the process takes.

Shopbox can coordinate hand-off timing once your funding plan is clear, but we do not arrange the loan, choose the lender, or make a credit decision for you.

If you are comparing the full buyer journey, the FAQ covers common financing questions and the buyer guide walks through the inspection, paperwork, and pickup sequence.
